This is a welded watertight steel underground shelter made to attach to a home or covered area. It’s designed so the shelter can integrate seamlessly with your home and meet required residential codes. By meeting your locations residential codes your shelter can get a permit and be counted as a bedroom or living area in the attached house. This is great because the added square footage of the shelter can be appraised to the home’s value and be part of the mortgage or financing.

That doesn’t mean these shelters are not adaptable though, they can be planned out and constructed in a variety of different ways to suit you.

Your shelter can be a harmonious addition

  • HVAC Connection and Auxiliary Couplings

    Optional heavy duty high temp PVC piping to connect the shelter to your HVAC system, this option will meet residential code requirements. Steel piping is also available but will need to be insulated to code when required. You can also have several threaded pipe couplings at different locations for plumbing, electrical, or anything else you may want to add later on. Flanges have chimical resistant gaskets, and fasteners have multiple layers of silicone sealant and are capped on the heads to prevent water from ever leaking inside the shelter.

  • Emergency Shutoff

    Emergency shutoff valves in the ceiling to close off air, water, or chemicals coming through the HVAC connection to the home. The system is rated for 150 psi and can include fire dampers. Shelter includes tamper resistant emergency air pipes with the option of installing Andair filtration system including blast valves.

  • Fire Escape and Security Hatch

    Fire escape that will meet international residential code. Emergency escape hatch at the top with spring assisted opening and easy one-handed pull operation.

  • High Strength Cold Formed Steel

    Utilizing high strength steel studs and joists for framing allow you to hide your plumbing, wiring, and insulation. Also allows for inwall shelving and cabinets for storage, or additional storage under the floor and in the ceiling.

Blending conventional home building materials with high strength steel to get the best of both worlds. Eight-foot ceilings and nearly eleven-foot width interior gives you plenty of room for storage and amenities.
